The Commonwealth Students' Welfare Group of India is an all India group working for the overall benefit of citizens with special focus towards youth. We have members across India. The CSWGI is an overseas branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, which is a network of individuals and organisations committed to improving the lives and prospects of Commonwealth citizens across the world.

The QCEC 2020 was launched in Christchurch, New Zealand by the Society's Vice-Patron HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. The QCEC is the world’s oldest and largest schools’ international writing contest.

The CSWGI was founded on 24th April 2005 by a group of likeminded Youth supporting the Commonwealth cause. Initially what looked like a university student's club, grew its support & membership and was awarded the privilege of the overseas branch status by Royal Commonwealth Society effective 22nd July 2005.
